Has anyone used pylab .How does it compare with matlab and labview

Hi,

I've never used pylab or labview; however I have used Octave which was, in my opinion, very good.

I haven't used Matlab that much, but it seems very similar.

I'll look into pylab when I get a chance, which will probably be some time as I'll soon be returning to university.

I notice the OP also asking about Python GUI.

I'd recommed using pylab (numpy, matplotlib) if your GUI question relates to being able to plot graphs of things. I haven't used the other tools you wish to compare, I just needed to get a job done.
