Laptop thumbwheel volume control not working

I'm testing the 11.2 RC1 on a Acer Aspire 5920g laptop. After installation I've noticed that the thumbwheel volume control doesn't do anything (it works fine on Mandriva 2009.1), is there a trick to getting this working? Anyone know if it's working in RC2?
