Default 11.2 RC 1 Many KDE Apps HelpHandbooks Missing

I have noticed that many apps that came with 11.2 RC 1 are missing from the KDE Help Center. For example, start Dolphin --> Help --> Dolphin Handbook
gives the following error:

Code:
Could not launch the KDE Help Center:
KDEInit could not launch 'susehelp'.:
Could not find 'susehelp' executable.
I've seen this with KWrite, KTorrent, Dolphin, Okteta and more.

In addition "F1" does not work when the app is running to call up Help.

Anyone else?

Did you install from the KDE Live CD? And if so, did you download the additional c. 1GB of "default" packages? Because it looked like there were a pile of man/help packages in there.

I used the KDE live cd and didn't install anything more. When I added my KDE Repos I just told it to update all packages if newer. What packages would contain all the help files and such? Perhaps we can at least figure out what packages Romanator is missing.

Take Care,

Ian

Ian
When I finished the Live CD install, because the fw for my wlan card was missing first thing I did was started up Yast's software management to go find the ipw2200 and there was a long list of packages to get, including a heap of lib files, the missing ipw2200 fw and a lot of man and hel files. This was before running any update.

One of the purposes of running the RC for me is to see how it behaves for an "average" user so on the basis that these packages look to be additional "default" requirements I just accepted the lot. I didn't make a note of exactly what they were but I can easily do another install and see what those suggested "add-ons" are *and* if the help files work from a "raw" install. In which case we can rule out my suggestion anyway !! Give me an hour or so...

But I'm not about to actually let the add-ons install this time (see my "TP BBQ" post )

Ah yes I did read that thread, mostly because of the interesting title haha. Wish I could help there. I'm installing virtualbox right now to check as well. My usual approach with new machines is, install, Go to software repositories and refresh all enabled. Then go to software management and update all packages with newer version. Then once all those run I add my separate repositories and then either add stuff like games or just update all packages with newer version again like with the KDE repositories. So if I can't access the help beforehand I'll try to note where my functionality comes in.

Take Care,

Ian

Just fired up the LiveCD without installing and the help pages seem to be there (well, a random selection anyway incl Dolphin - never read them before, quite handy aren't they ).

So it seems the extra d/l isn't required and Romanator has another problem...

Just off to fry lunch on my T43 now...

Guys

I installed 11.2 RC 1 from the DVD 64-bit. The Live CD builds are a few builds later. I am wondering if I should update KDE or update the Factory build?

As a follow up, I will wait till Thursday to download 11.2 RC 2.
Hopefully, these omissions will be addressed.

Cheers!
