Nothing changed. My bootloader is defaulting to my windows partitions instead of suse (which is still showing -4.4), think that's a bad thing?
It seems like I didn't downgrade all the kernel packages but since I can only get access YAST (I don't know zypper) in init 3, it is very hard to find the rest of the packages that would need updating. *Sigh* |

I almost forgot about the previous post to try failsafe and it works. I have a window manager at least. I am going to go into yast to see if I can find anything else that needs to be downgraded.

Nothing except I have 2 kernel entries.
I am declaring the system hosed and will start reloading right away. On a side note, my laptop has an ATI card and I hear so many ATI users saying that they updated their drivers, but how? I haven't found an ATI driver that has packages ready for 11.1 and the 11.0 packages don't work. How is this? |

This is for everyone that contributed to this post.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! 8288 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1657.449 FPS This solution actually took a combination of solutions, let me explain. After my system started burning in flames from screwing up my kernel, I was forced to perform a new installation. After the install was completed I loaded the x11/xgl that Bender suggested and updated compiz, nothing. I was at 165 fps, but could not start the effects because of the xrender thing back on page 1. I then went into init 3, loaded the 180.6 drivers as advised on page 2 I think and when I went back into init 5, I SAW EFFECTS.

Well good luck for You
![]() First thing You do is to install drivers (after that there will be some problems). After that You add the X11 repository(still problems after that) You update all compiz packages (still problems) Go to init 3 then remove /home/<user>/.config/compiz folder then go back to init 5 where everything should work as it should. I hope i was clear enough (didn't explain how to install drivers as i assume most of You know how to do that)
