I always get my Epson SX400 (and before that the DX7400) to work like this. This has worked on Suse 10.3, 11 and 11.1
Download the appropriate driver from avasys *Download***All-in-Ones* [AVASYS CORPORATION]. Go to the terminal and extract the pipslite file with this command as su rpm -U pipslite-X.X.X-X.rpm Make sure your printer is turned on and (still as su) enter pipslite-install Start CUPS, and click "Administrator" -> "Add Printer" and enter a name -> continue Choose Epson Inkjet Printer #1 (Photo Image Print System Lite) -> continue choose Epson from the Menu and click continue choose the "Epson Photo Image Print System Lite" Driver and click add. Enter root password and setup your default printer options. For printing nozzle check patterns, cleaning ink levels etc. use escputil type in the terminal: Quote:
