If you really must have the MS fonts...

Open and konsole or terminal

Now type “cd /home/Your Username/Desktop” “Your Username” means your login name.

wget http://download.opensuse.org/update/...chmsttfonts.sh

chmod a+x fetchmsttfonts.sh

sudo sh fetchmsttfonts.sh

Once installation is done, you may delete the file fetchmsttfonts.sh of your desktop.

Good luck!

What people don't understand is.. sometimes a certain font is a REQUIREMENT. At my place of employment we have some documents that are required to be in Times New Roman (which I am trying to reverse now that we are bringing Linux into our enterprise).

I'm with you...sometimes there is no choice, only a directive.

I copied my cwindows\fonts directory, and 7-zipped it up. I leave it on my thumb drive. I had a ton of various fonts in said directory, including the MS Core fonts. When I do Linux installs for people, I just extract the font folder, and then use kcontrol to install all those fonts into the system.

I do the exact same thing. It's great to support free software and all, but when you have Professors that are anal about what font you use on papers, it's better to have the MS fonts.
