Default does wireless work with kde 4.3?
ok so everytime i try to connect with wireless it just disconnects me? and i think is my wireless security i've tried with WPA and WEP and no luck

any ideas?

It certainly does work. But you don't give us much to go on. WPA should work fine and is far better security than WEP.
The settings must be in place in the router to enable the connection Eg; is it using address reservation and access control by MAC address?

What is your device?
Do this and post result

Okay... I just reinstalled openSUSE 11.1, and since I heard such great reviews about KDE 3.5 and how bad KDE 4.0 was, I decided to install KDE 3.5. Now here is my issue.

Previously, (when running under KDE 4.0) the wireless interface worked, though sometimes I had to wait a few minutes after boot up, but it did operate... Now that I reinstalled, I can't get the darned thing to work. Frustrating.

Anyway, looking at the output from dmesg here are the last few lines:

So (to me) it looks like it is having a problem keeping the thing authenticated... Is that usual behavior?

(Only way to get on right now is hardwire... eth0) Anyway, I don't see the "inet addr" in the wlan0 line, therefore assuming that the wireless is not connected.

I don't know what that tell ya... (newbie here!)

Is there anything else you would need to help me?

How about what your PC is Desktop/Laptop, built-in wireless/ USB wireless / wireless card, type of router or network used.

These can all help to narrow down possible reasons and appropriate resolves.

The ath9k driver has been greatly improved since kernel 2.6.27. Note
that mainline is nearly at 2.6.32. You should use

'Software.openSUSE.org' (http://software.opensuse.org/search)

to find the version of compat-wireless that matches your kernel as
shown by 'uname -r'. Install the binary, not the source, rpm.
