Default kill wlan0 and use wlan1

Got an laptop with an internal wireless card. It works well, but the signals are to week, so i cant get online.
so i connect an usb external usb dongle, witch is strong enough.
Internal is wlan0, and the usb is wlan1. But network manager insist on connect to both, on the same time. The network globe turns to good signal icon, and shows im connected to wlan0 and wlan1, but i get no internet. So i got to kill wlan0 somehow.

Lets say i try to connect to essid alfa, so i tried to set essid for wlan0 to beta, and wlan1 to alfa. Tried iwconfig wlan0 down, seems ok in terminal, but network mangager just seems to ignore me, and still connects to the same essid with both.
Of course, i can open up my pc and kill the internal card for real but..

As you do not mention what these devices are, I cannot give you the
exact commands you need.

You could unload the driver for the internal card as long as it is
different that the external one. Use 'sudo /sbin/modprobe -rv xxxx',
or blacklist the driver.

Code:
/lib/modules/2.6.27.29-0.1-default/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/rtl8187.ko
alias: usb:v0BDAp8197d*dc*dsc*dp*ic*isc*ip*
(Although I suppose Larry won't be too happy about that *g*).

No users == no complaints. Why would I complain?

Seriously, those built-in RTL8187B units must have really bad
antennas. My external unit is one of the best devices I have with low
signals.

My experience (not with the hardware but with trying to help users in several fora) are in 100% agreement with that statement.

No, it is from LevelOne. The only problem I had was it has USB ID of
8187, but is an RTL8187B and should have ID of 8189.
