WLAN with Toshiba Satellite M60 (ipw 2200) on SuSE 11.1

I wonder if somebody can point me into right direction with WLAN setup on SuSE 11.1.

If you see this

unassociated ESSID: off/any

which you do, you need to set up the network device. if you click on network manager,then click new connection,then fill in the details as you go along. at the last page,click on save,then close,not save & connect.Then you click on network manager & then click on the ESSID/name of wireless network you wish to connect to. If you entered all the details correctly,you should connect. This is all explained in lwfinger's posts at the start of the forum

Hello deltaflyer44,
many thanks for your response. I the meantime I have managed to get this working. It turned out that it was an issue with different configurations or setups between different desktops (KDE 3.5 and Gnome).
Somehow in KDE 3.5 I did not have neither Network Manager nor could I define networks otherwise - even though I followed the mentioned instructions from the start. When switching to Gnome it was all there immediately: network manager -> all WLANS were there, click on my WLAN, enter password,connect, works as charm.
This is probably a typical novice problem and and I can imagine that an experienced "penguin" would immediately know which missing packages need to be deployed under KDE to get this working equally.
