Static IP probably has nothing to do with it.

You say your WLAN is detected: do you mean your wifi card is detected but no network, or your network is detected? In the latter case, click on "Connect", choose your security (WEP, WPA) and enter your password. Maybe you have done that and encountered problems: you'll need to provide more information in that case...

You configured for using ifup. I guess you used YaST to do this. Can you tell in more detail what you filled in where when you did this. It is impossible to know this from here when you only say "it does not work".

And by the way, I see this is your first post. Welcome to the Forums!

When this is a wifi (and it is) then there is more to do. In the second picture *where your card is selected) click Edit. When you follow the sveral screens there you will be asked for the name of your network and things like WEP and keys, etc.

That is correct. And when you filled in the fields and click Next there is more. I guess you did that with the correct values.

I can say that I did this with a friends system and it works after every boot.

But when the card is not detected anymore .........

Any reason you set it to ad-hoc network instead of managed?

Also click edit on the first page and disable the one you don't want (ie DHCP).

Disable ipV6

You must also enter a DNS server address, maybe 192.168.1.1 as a guess.
