At least in ubuntu I could use a similar model (3100) driver to print something. But so far I can't find anything in suse for any dell printer. This could be one reason to go for ubuntu instead.

Thanks for the link very much. Although I didn't see the exact ppd file for dell 5100cn, but sounds like I could use some generic postscript driver. I will have more reading on that. cheers.
