Default Explorer preview & Samba

Hi

We have a file server running based on OpenSuse 11.1 and Samba 3.2.7.
We access this file server from Vista using the standard file explorer.
In the file explorer file preview and file pop up info is enabled by default.
The problem with this is, that while the file explorer is fetching preview and pop up info from the fileserver, I get "Locked by another user" when trying to open word & excel documents. If I disable these two features, I don't get this message.
Does anybody know, if there is a way arround this issue? Maybe some specific Samba configuration can solve it?

Cheers,
Jacob Vennervald

Jacob;

You might try disabling oplocks/level2 oplocks on the share. I'm not sure it
will work, but it will likely result in degradation of your network
performance. You should read:

http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/...n/locking.html

See also: man smb.conf for the usage of the parameters "oplocks" and "level2
oplocks".
