how to see my network machines

Hello, I just installed Open Suse 11.1, and when I go to my network, it just shows an icon for a windows network, but it does not show any machine, and it won't see my other ubuntu machines. How can I fix this? I want to transfer files between machines.

Hi and welcome to the forums

You need to configure file sharing.

If you include windows machines, it's Samba that you use. If they're all Linux machines, use NGFS.
Link to NFS: there's a book installed on your openSUSE, located at /usr/share/doc/manual/opensuse-manual_en/manual/index.html. Open the html index and cruise to chapter 24 (Sharing with NFS)
