near the bottom of your messages it show you plugged in a memory stick
or something made by LG..

does your machine always "crash" when you plug that device in?

explain what you mean when you say "my opensuse 11.1 crashes"?

-that is, what do you see?

-does the screen go black? white?

-or suddenly have pink stripes all over? crazy? (how so?)

-do the shiftlock and numlock LEDs on the keyboard go out, or flash?

-if you press the shiftlock key does the shiftlock LED turn on/off?

-the hard drive light, does it go on and stay on?

-or, does it go dark and stay dark?

-if you could hear the fan(s) turning, when it crashes does that stop?

-is this a laptop? what brand and model? how much RAM? graphic card?

can we have some more hardware info please?

graphics, sound, mobo, etc..

And which drivers for graphics if they are Nvidia, ATI or Intel ( standard
or propriety )

You could also enable the SysRq key in Yast>System>Sysconfig Editor

Just use the search function and then read here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_SysRq_key

At least you might not suffer as much data loss and have to sit through a
fsck on reboot unless this is a full blown kernel panic/crash and it might
write some useful info into the logs that might help in diagnosing what it
happening.

asysat, i agree with baskitcaise that this is probably a software
problem, and i guess most likely a graphics driver problem...so, you
have to cough up some hardware info to get the help you want..
