And which drivers for graphics if they are Nvidia, ATI or Intel ( standard or propriety ) You could also enable the SysRq key in Yast>System>Sysconfig Editor Just use the search function and then read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_SysRq_key At least you might not suffer as much data loss and have to sit through a fsck on reboot unless this is a full blown kernel panic/crash and it might write some useful info into the logs that might help in diagnosing what it happening.
