Here's a more current Google Chrome 4.0.203.2 for suse rpm.

Ubuntu and Fedora both have current chrome releases. I wonder why suse doesn't. Also can Fedora's rpm version be used on suse?

    Hi
    It does, 4.0.245.0
    http://software.opensuse.org/search?...p=1&q=chromium

Having been involved in the initial chromium build, it moved from
dbuck's repository into contrib, which is the process to move into the
standard distribution at some point in time.

I used the repository and installed a new version today "4.0.238.0 (0)". That's newer than both Ubuntu and Fedora! I was worried since I only use chrome. I stopped using firefox months ago.

I'm a Ubuntu(debian) user so finding my way through suse's repos is a bit of a challenge. Thanks for your reply.

Edit: I just realized your post reflects .245 ! I need to figure out how to update it.

    Hi
Without adding the repository, just click on the version you want and
    manually download and install via the rpm command;

    Code:
    sudo rpm -Uhv <name_of_rpm>
The other way is to download it and create a local repository via YaST
software repositories and when setting it up check the 'plain rpm', you
can then use either YaST or zypper to install.

The local repository will give you some better control over things
in case some addition rpms get added to contrib that may affect your
install Then it's just a matter of checking to see if there is an
updated rpm and download that and install with zypper lu/zypper up.
