suse 11.1 with aircrack

is madwifi Necessary for me to make aircrack work
my susee 11.1 detect the wireless card automatic (Atheros 5007Eg)
and now i can access the unsecured access point
but not the secured one some say atheros 5007eg not supported by madwifi
but i find this url

actually i am get confused time after time since start work on linux
sometimes there is no support for your driver or even no guarantee for what you doing
,and that what happened with my speed touch usb 330 modem
anyway i want the drivers work
