Exclamation Any one out there who have practically setup Samba PDC?

Hi,

I am really frustrated because from the last three months I have been trying to setup my opensuse machine both 10.3 and now 11.1 as Samba PDC, but in vain. Is there any one out there who have setup an opensuse machine as Samba PDC with LDAP and who could share the complete practical guide here, please help.

Both the guides present at the URLs mentioned below are in-complete:

1: http://en.opensuse.org/Howto_setup_S...3_as_Samba_PDC

2: http://en.opensuse.org/Howto_setup_S...1_as_Samba_PDC

Now if both the guides are incomplete, where could I find the practical one? If any one has practically setup a OpenSuse as Samba PDC, Please share it with me.

I also tried to setup Samba PDC with OpenLDAP and DNS using Yast by following the guide present at the URL below:

http://digiplan.eu.org/ldap-samba-howto-v4.html

Now I want to join a Windows XP machine to this Samba PDC domain. I am able to ping the FQDN of the PDC from the XP machine, but when I try to join the domain, the user name / password dialogue box appears. I put in the root User Name / Password, after few moments I get the error, 'The network path was not found'. What could be the reason for that? Any one please help.

Regards,

Babar
