Default Hide / Change IP - domain name

Hello,

I have a website configured on server running openSUSE 11.1, however when I surf always show static IP / mail.mydomain_name.com ...
Is it possible to hide mail.domain_name.com so it shows only static IP?

You mean configure apache2 to log only remote client ip instead the full
host?

If yes, take a look into "Custom Log Formats" to check if that helps:

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod...g.html#formats

And also "HostNameLookups" directive:

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod...ostnamelookups

THT...

Ah, o.k. Now I see your concern.

But you can do nothing on this, unless you are your own ISP. This is
something is up your provider setup, nothing you can tweak on your side :-(

Well, you can always use an online proxy to "hide" your host for web
browsing, but never use this on sites you have to provide username/password
or sensitive data.

If you need some anonymity per day basis, better use Tor or another personal
proxy solution:

http://www.torproject.org/index.html.en

Anyway, you must beware with the drawbacks of such solutions.
