Hello,
My Opensuse 11 vmware clone does not respond to ping. I can ping every machine in the network but only pings in that direction are possible. When the firewall is active, I can see that it's being blocked (from my macbook to the VM) but the moment the firewall is deactivated the pings don't receive an answer. All I did was to clone a virtual machine and replace the virtual network card. I don't really understand that... Any ideas? Felix |

Ok I found it...
"shorewall2 stop" didn't deactivate it properly. "/etc/init.d/SuSEfirewall2_setup stop" did the job Felix |

The SuSEfirewall2 is _well_ documented, even in its configuration file.
