Default network mgr bar graph

The wireless bar graph in network mgr icon keeps changing, not always at full power. The connection worked from the start after loading KDE4.1.3, click the linksys bar, online. The csco router is 3 rooms away, get a range booster maybe? Asking before a salesman sells something I don't need. Thanks,
Linksys wireless pci card, hp desktop.

Does the connection stay up? If it does, don't worry about it. The bar graph is
only an approximation anyway.
