Default connected to wifi but nothing works

I finally got my Broadcom wireless card to connect to the router thanks to you people and it has 5 bars so it is a good signal.
the problem is that neither Firefox or email will connect to the net.

what else do I need to do to get it to work?
Thanks for all your help so far.

Default Re: connected to wifi but nothing works

1 ) check your firewall
2 ) check ipv6 is off
3 ) ensure "work off-line" is not ticked in Firefox
