Default howto stop and resume packages install??

my network connection is not fast.
manytimes server disconnects.
and power failure is common here.
when download time is 6 - 8 hours how can i stop and resume installation/update??
where is the package manager download cache in suse-11.1 so i can ask it to save the files downloaded.

help needed

Have you downloaded your DVD?

My guess is not, go get it using a Torrent client which is more tolerant of bad network connections than HTTP or FTP.
