nunciom hasn't been rated much yet
Default network connection breaks

dear all,
Network is quite often interuptted in my opensuse11 with gnome desktop. A restart brings it back but its too cumbersome to reboot every half an hour or so, any solutions

What kind of network? What kind of card? Has this always happened? Do
other systems have this issue? Have you tried the same box via other
networks or network cables? If it's a wireless issue you should
probably post in the wireless child forum.

mine is a LAN using a dl 2000 based ethernet card. This is not happening to other pc in the network and if i change the cable or switches it behaves the same way

Well I can't claim to be an expert on the hardware (may eventually want
to check in the .hardware forum if nothing else comes up in here) but
instead of rebooting try the following command (as root) to see if it
recovers your connection:

/etc/init.d/network restart

Also are you using the User-controlled (network manager) setup or the
Traditional setup of your network (unchanging by the user)?
