I don't know what dreamwevil is, but for ftp I put an address like this in my file manager (Konqueror, Nautilus):
ftp://username@222.333.444.555/www/ or this is the same thing ftp://username@www.swerdna.net.au/www/ And the contents of my web server open before me like a rose in bloom! I can edit the files in situ with my app (Quanta+) or drag and drop them to and from the desktop and edit them there.

Sorry still lost, I can't find a File Manager, Konqueror or Nautilus. I am using OpenSUSE 11.0 64bit and during installation I selected the Gnome interface, perhaps this may help. Side question, how do I use the command line or open the command line prompt?
Dreamweaver is a designers application for building websites, it's part of the Adobe CS3 suit. Dreamweaver has a built in FTP which can connect to other servers in order to transfer files accross. |

So I put like this in the address bar: ftp://www.kitsune.org/www and I get a choice of things where I choose "connect as user" and "remember password" That's it. BTW the console is there in the menu near Home Folder. It's called "Gnome Terminal".

Okay I followed the path, it takes me to this page which seems like the default home directory of my user profile [Screen Shot]
I cannot see any address bar where I can insert your example "ftp://www.kitsune.org/www" sorry perhaps I did something wrong? Cheers for the Gnome Terminal information I managed to run it and executed the winecfg to install windows live messenger but unfortunately I cannot find the messenger lolz. How long does it normally take to learn a Linux OS? |
