I have no idea what to do or how to prove what the issue is so I am asking here for advice so I dont make things worse through ignorance.
My desktop PC is now reporting a file system with errors after every shutdown. First it does a check during the boot process then goes to a (repair filesystem) command line. Running fsck fixes a load of problems then the system will boot normally. The main HDD is 3xSATA in RAID 5 configuration. I am running Suse 11.1 64 bit with 8GB RAM on an Intel Quad core processor. The machine is built from components and has been working faultlessly for 3 months. My only thoughts are that maybe an update has had an unexpected side effect or that the Mother Board has an issue though it could also be a disk problem but I would have thought that the RAID would recover from that. Any suggestions on what I can do to track down the cause much appreciated. Ian |
