I think it's a little late to be considering 10.3 though - they're going to drop support for it pretty soon, so you won't be getting any updates/patches.

Indeed, and some of the information in this thread was misleading. For example, beagle WAS an issue in 10.3, from what I remember, and it had to be disabled for those who did not want the performance impact. There are blogs/threads explaining how to remove it from 10.3.
