The ones I am trying to update now are Pidgin and libpurple. I guess I shouldn't worry about it since what I'm really trying to do is install Slackware. Is there a forum on here where I should ask about the drive not booting DVD's? Or should I go to LinuxQuestions.org for that?

From what repo are you trying to update "Pidgin" and "libpurple"? I see "pidgin-2.5.8-1.1.i586.rpm" and "libpurple-2.5.8-1.1.i586.rpm" available under gnome "community" repo for 10.3. But please, please, please (did I say "please" ;-) ) before using any OBS repo, read the docs: GNOME/Repositories http://en.opensuse.org/GNOME/Software_Repositories And *always* check for conflicts and dependencies *before* installing any package. If you are getting any error, just take note and put here the messages. Remember that you can use YaST software management module in Qt flavor instead of GTK one (I find more confortable and easy to understand the QT one). Just run "yast2 --qt" to get it*. (*) At least in openSUSE 11.1 it is available, not sure for openSUSE 10.3, though. Greetings, -- Camaleón |

Most likely the 10.3 update repository. All these things like gtk2-devel and glibc-devel have dependency issues and won't install or update. It doesn't say which packages they need, so I don't know where to look for them.

Mmmm, check that you just have enabled the two needed repos: /oss http://download.opensuse.org/distrib...10.3/repo/oss/ /update http://download.opensuse.org/update/10.3/ If having those repos activated and *still* getting errors, tell yast to create a "test solver case". Open YOU and go to "Xtras" menu. Greetings, -- Camaleón |

It's the OSS repository that I needed. I didn't have it because when installing, it couldn't connect to the wireless LAN. Then I didn't see it listed on the website; I only saw the update repository and the third-party ones. So, all fixed now! One problem down; three more problems to go. Thanks, all
