Hi all !!
I have downloaded the opensuse 11.1 gnome reloaded from Index of /repositories/GNOME:/Medias/images/iso this url and tried to make a live usb of it using the steps given in the following sites namely , openSUSE Lizards » How to Make openSUSE 11.0 GM Live USB openSUSE Lizards » Making openSUSE 11.0 LiveUSB : The Easiest (and Fastest) Way and i rebuilt the initrd image .. and made the liveusb and when i booted with the usb .. the got the following .. Code:
cat /proc/cmdline - No such file or directory grep /proc/cmdline - No such file or directory Creating device nodes with udev udev[57]: error disabling OOM : No such file or directory .. blogd : can't open /proc/cmdline blogd : can't open /pty/tty/pair - No such file or directory Starting boot shell boot logging kernel logging waiting for usb devices to settle waiting for CD/DVD devices to settle failed to detect the above two i.e CD/DVD/usb reboot exception : reboot in 120 secs Any help and response would be greatly appreciated .. waiting for replies .. |

I only ever got 11.1 to work on USB by installing the live image using unetbootin, then deleting the config.isoclient file in the root of the USB, and copying config.gnome.isoclient or config.kde.isoclient (depending on which LiveCD iso it was) and renaming the copy config.isoclient.

Also in the root of the USB. I followed instructions found in the comments here;
How to Make openSUSE 11.1 LiveUSB | Spirit of Change Maybe you can piece something together if the file isn't there. If not, maybe give it a try with the standard 11.1 iso. Installing via USB is definitely a frustrating experience - if it's any consolation, it seems that 11.2 is going to make it much easier. |
