Default Changing Host Name

I have installed from a live CD openSUSE11.1 with KDE 4.2.4. I have the boxed set of installation disks, but only with KDE 4.1.x and have encountered difficulties in upgrading KDE to 4.2.x, hence I used the Live CD. The CD would only function in "safe mode". Anyway, installation from Live CD does not offer an option to select a host name. For me the installer generated host name is unsatisfactory. How can I change the host name? I have read man pages for hostname command, but the host name created by hostname command reverts to the old name on rebooting. I suspect that I should "export" the hostname, but what is the command to do that?

I am stuck and can not really proceed with downloading and configuring additional software until I have resolved that host name problem. Please help!

Default Re: Changing Host Name

If i am getting you correct. Try this:
Open YaST->Netwrok Devices->Network Settings->Hostname/DNS(tab).

You can change hostname from there.
Is this information useful?

I used YaST as mmarif4u tells above and it worked fine.
