Install with 8800GTX

After the install completes, the computer boots into the after install wizard. It gets to configure hard ware and get to the video scan. My screen goes black and doesn't come back. I reboot and it goes to the same after install wizard and repeats. Recommendations?

Computer: Intel 975X chipset, Intel 6600 Core2 Duo, 6 gigs of RAM, 8800GTX and the linux install is going on a raptor hard drive.

When your screen goes blank you never see the X11 config box in the terminal screen? Or it sits in that one spot and never comes back?

correct, just goes black(blank) and never returns. Display up to that point was working great.

I don't know about what recommendation others might have but I would consider burning a CD of the Live Distro of the same version and see how that works. If you can get into the live desktop you might as well trying installing from it as well. At least if it doesn't load you should see some type of errors in the console on loadup.
