Some problems that need fix

-Install manager cannot connect to server.
-error when i try to install bin,rpm packages(console works)
-need codecs to play mov files
- how do i stop x to consol only?

If you want CLI mode, you can boot up in failsafe mode, or do

init 3

from a console (as root).

You can use zypper to download/update packages. Check out this how to.

Try

zypper refresh
zypper up

Post any errors.

BTW, you need to enable the Packman community repo in order to get the multimedia packages.
