Unhappy keyboard problems ACER Travelmate 7730 with OpenSUSE 11.1

I have an ACER Travelmate 7730 with OpenSUSE 11.1
In almost all applications it happens constantly that while I'm typing text, suddenly the cursor jumps to another location. The problem can be easily reproduced in Firefox, the Opera browser and OpenOffice Writer.
What could cause this very annoying problem.
I have the same problem when I boot in Ubuntu 9.04, but not in Microsoft Windows Vista.
Any help would be greatly appreciated : while just typing this simple piece of text, the problem certainly occurred 15 times. It witholds me from switching to Suse permanently.

Red face Re: keyboard problems ACER Travelmate 7730 with OpenSUSE 11.

The problem was solved after adding the following to my .bashrc, so that it is executed each time during startup :

DISPLAY=:0.0
export DISPLAY
syndaemon -t -d

make sure the Synaptic touchpad is enabled (in Yast system administrator settings) before you do this !

Results are still preliminary, but in the past 15 minutes the problem has not occurred anymore. So I am pretty confident that this was the solution.
