Installing on a Dell Inspirion

Am I going to be able to install OpenSUSE on a Dell Inspirion 15 with a Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6500, 3GB memory, Dell Wirelss-G Mini-Card? I want to intall OpenSUSE so I can either boot up to Windows or OpenSUSE. I have never done this before and am really new to Linux in general. I started out with Ubuntu on an old Toshiba Satellite about a month ago and want something that has more options than Ubuntu. OpenSUSE is one that several people recommended. I don't want to totally wipe Windows off this laptop but want the option to run either one.

before you burn the downloaded install image, see our excellent info
for new to openSUSE folks at: http://tinyurl.com/6jwtg9 where you will
find good advice on how to insure your install media is perfect (a
must) and links to help with your wireless, etc..

and, on the download page http://software.opensuse.org/ in step 5 is a
link to the step-by-step installation guide

begin the install..

routinely, the install will SEE your windows partition and _offer_ an
install solution which will allow dual boot to either..

because no software is 100% fool proof (and because during the install
process _you_ get to make some decisions which can, if you get
confused and allow it, format away everything already on the disk),
you should therefore backup your data, documents, photos, music, etc
etc etc on the Windows partition..

Thanks platinum for the reply. I didn't have to download an iso image since I have a disc that was made by Novell. I haven't acutally got the new computer yet so I am just trying to make sure everything will work. I honestly couldn't find the laptop model in the list on the page that you provided the link to.

Thanks for the suggestions and great links. I have visited the pages briefly and will go over them this morning with a closer look.
