Am using a Dell Studio 15(Model 1555).
Running Suse 11.1. Have searched fro drivers on the official site as well as tried to search for the driver at HCL/ATI Video Cards - openSUSE Couldn't get anything. Please help. |

Actually I didn't miss that. Did everything according to what is said there. Now my system doesn't even show the login screen. Looks like I am in a bigger fix than i started off with.

Did you resolve your probles with the HD 4570 driver? I am asking, because Last night it seemed that I had the same issue, after installing the recomended ATI driver, but the X did load. No login screen, no command line prompt...Thanks. regards |

Users of Ubuntu in this thread ([ubuntu_studio] Dell Studio 15 + Mobility Radeon HD 4570 - Ubuntu Forums) appear to have made this laptop play nice with Linux. I'm following both threads closely because I want to get this laptop with the same graphics configuration.

allso im my case i have built in ati radeon hd 2700 which is not listed in ati drivers, i have to use drivers for radeon hd2600,(2700 is built on basis of 2600)

aha, in safe mode, you probaly have blak screen, use combination CTRL + ALT + F2 to reach console

Hey guys. I've got something. Disabling framebuffer it is possible to have the X server back. I could configure the monitor and enable Xinerama, although I didn't test anything but opening a gnome session.
A little more is said the opensuse wiki. |
