Default No sound Hp dv2000

Well i've been using kde for a few months and everything was just fine, around two days ago i decided to give Gnome a shot but i can not get the sound to work, the funny thing is that when i log in in KDE everything works including the sound and in Gnome i do not have any sound at all!!, do you have any ideas on what the problem can be??? Thanks in advance!!

My guess is pulse audio. Type:
rpm -qa | grep pulse
make a note of all the pulse apps you have installed (so that you can re-install them later if need be), then consider removing them all.
