Basically i want to build a new server, 64 bit. File server, local
web pages, mail gateway (maybe), leafnode (modified), DHCP, local nameserver, things like this. Just one machine to backup, i hope. That reminds me i should upgrade the wired network to GB. I am interested in motherboards with PCI-E (and maybe PCI-X) and SCSI 160/320 cards (5 fast drives, though small). Video is no big though i am thinking of running headless. Other machines for sound as well. I wish to have current user reports to amplify the HCL which is noticeably inconsistent and often dated for this use. |

I'm very pleased with my old Via C3-powered mini-ITX that does all
that - and a bit more while drawing under 30 watts at the wall. Newer C7 nanoBGA (not the regular C7s) CPUs are 64-bit and support virtualization with more processing power and lower power consumption than the Atoms. They cost more, but there are boards available with PCI-E.
