Default mplayer 32 bit on 64 bit suse?

Hi,

I've been trying to get a 32 bit mplayer on my 64 bit opensuse 11.1 so that I can play all codecs (win32codec is 32 bit only I believe).

Is there some easy binary package way that I'm missing?
I try to compile it using:
./configure --target=i386-linux

But all I get is:
CPU you selected does not support x86-64 instruction set

in configure.log
