Default Wlan AR928X shows no wlan(imo right driver installed)

Hi alltogether,
today I installed openSuse 11.1 on my Asus X56T notebook. The notebook has a Atheros AR928X wireless network adapter which I use under windows without any problems. Now in linux I got a situation: First of all the AR928X used with the standard network manager does not find any wlan networks (under windows triple checked...the nets are there so in windows i can use them)
First of all I thought it would be some driver issue, but after switching from Network Manager to yast I saw that in the network configuration screen the wlan adaptor appeared with it's correct name, so I really do not know what I can do to get wlan. It is not possible to find any net in range (but it is proven by windows that there are more than 3 nets here..)

would be glad if someone could help me with this problem.

Sorry for posting this in the wrong subsection, would be happy if a mod could move it into the wireless lan section (totally overlooked that there is a separat section for wlan)
sorry again
