Epson perfection 660 scanner

As a new user, could someone explain how I can get my EPSON/PERFECTION 660 scanner to work. It is detected but not supported. I do not understand the information on the snapscan backend site.

go to : AVASYS CORPORATION

they provide drivers for linux on their site. did not find perfection 660 but you can try with the perfection 640, you have to install iscan then re-detect your scanner with YaST and reboot. i have a v200 and its working good.

I finally got it working. I was looking for a tail_058.bin and my CD had a tail_061.bin. At any rate I struggled through the man pages and finally got things working. Also had to find out why it only worked as root.
I can honestly say if I was a complete no understanding anything at all about computers and jargon,I would have returned to Windows. But I vowed never to be a Windows Wimp again!
