hi,
i am using openSUSE 10.2, where in my server is getting shutdown periodically(may be 24 hrs). I think there no activity on the keyboard and mouse which leads to the shutdoen. how can i disable it? thanks and regards, abhayadev s |

AFAICS it's not shutting down, it's going to sleep (suspend). Looks like you configured it to suspend after a certain amount of time elapsed with no activities. Please read through and check all settings in powermanagement. Check powermanagement both in KDE and Yast

The /var/log/messages you posted does not contain any events showing shutdown as far as I can see?
The shutdown of zmd is your Zenworks update agent that has checked for work to do, not found much and went back to sleep... nothing shocking there. Please post output showing the shutdown occurring and activity before shutdown. If this info is not there then maybe an unexpected powerdown is the source (loss of AC for example)? If this is the case you will probably see messages about an unclean shutdown in /var/log/boot.*
