Hi all,
I've just installed a LAN-connected HP Photosmart 2575 (intetegrated printer-scanner) : update of hplip at last level (3.9.2.11) + manual configuration via YAST2 : IP-add+Port9100. For printing, good and easy! Now, what to do to configure and use the integrated scanner? It seems there's no automatic detection through network (only SCSI or USB), and I found no way to specify IPaddr and port. my distro = 11.1, uptodate (Linux version 2.6.27.21-0.1-pae ) Thanks in advance |

I can only have a guess at this because I've only had experience of brother scanner connected on network at work.
I think there should be a config tool called hp-setup with which you can supply the IP address of your scanner on the network: hp-setup -a 192.168.1.88 (for example) If all went well, you should get some useful output when you invoke the following command as regular user: scanimage -L If you don't get a response, try again as root. See how that goes. Maybe someone else has more experience with this hardware. |

I found this thread which explains how to configure scanner via yast. Hope it is helpful.
