no sound in opensuse 11.1

hello, I've just installed opensuse 11.1 on my desktop. I used ubuntu before and I'm very new to opensuse. My problem is that I can't get any sound from my usb speakers. I have tried to check the sound settings but without luck. Can someone please help me and tell me what to do?

this might be a problem bcoz of not accessing your usb port.....

while starting your system try changing your usb legacy mode in motherboard setup.......

i too do not have much idea about it .. but just try it once

Check if this can help "http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:AudioTroubleshooting#Installing_alsa-firmware_on_openSUSE-10.3_to_11.1". I had a sound problem also and this article helped me in getting rid of that. Try it

Furthermore: Did you check the sound volume in yast?

Thanks for your answers! I went trough the steps in the article but still no sound btw the sound worked fine when i tried it from the live cd... i will try your advice now Michael.

if you need to check the system volume

go through
yast>>hardware>>sound>>other>>keep your pcm and master volume at high

note:every player would have different volumes so you need to change them
