hi silkmaze
Im doing that very thing right now. You can use different monitors of diferent sizes and resolutions (even mix widescreen and standard!) Its pretty easy to configure. If you do not already have the nvidia proprietary drivers installed: follow this guide. NVIDIA - openSUSE once the driver is installed, you can use sax2 to configure the monitors (as the guide suggests.) however, you may also want to check out the nvidia-settings utility. It comes bundled with the driver. You have access to several more driver-specific options as well as being able to do some "fine tuning" on the monitor settings. then from a terminal window, execute the following command (as root) kdesu nvidia-settings I use nvidia-settings myself, but sax2 is definately the way to go if you want a quick and easy setup.

Works fine with 10.3 provided you install the proprietary NVidia drivers. The open source driver doesn't support dual-head operation. > If it is possible, do both monitors > have to be the same size, ie, both 19inch or both 24inch, or can I > attach a 19inch and a 24inch and use both monitors at the same time? Both monitors can be configured independently, different size is no problem. HTH T. -- Tilman Schmidt Phoenix Software GmbH Bonn, Germany |
