Default Scanner and Print Server [Jet Direct]

Hi everyone. I wonder if anyone has experience of using a Jet Direct print server with a scanner?

Current setup: HP 1220 LaserJet [Postscript] Multifunction Printer with Scanner. Server runs openSuse 11.0, using CUPS, SANE and HPLIP. This gives me network printing and scanning from PC across the network. Works a treat, does what I want. Workstations are running openSuse 10.3 and 11.0 - there is 1 windows box, but as long as I can print from it, that is good enough.

However, I now have a network storage device [Linksys NAS200], which renders the storage part of the server redundant, and I am contemplating replacing the server with a HP 175x JetDirect Print server and getting the PC back for another project.

Would this work? Does anyone have a similar configuration with this print server which allows network printing and scanning?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

Nigma
