Hi.
My wife has recived as a gift a brand new HP Jornada 545 last week and I've been trying to deal how to make it work on OS 11. I've read some place that it's fully suported on linux (this I doubt it). I'm using GNOME and my "uname -a" says: Code:
Linux linux-fl56 2.6.25.11-0.1-pae #1 SMP 2008-07-13 20:48:28 +0200 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux Code:
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 03f0:1016 Hewlett-Packard Jornada 548 / iPAQ HW6515 Pocket PC Code:
drivers/usb/serial/ipaq.c: USB PocketPC PDA driver v0.5 ipaq 1-1:1.0: PocketPC PDA converter detected usbcore: registered new interface driver ipaq ipaq ttyUSB0: PocketPC PDA converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0 ipaq 1-1:1.0: device disconnected ipaq 1-1:1.0: PocketPC PDA converter detected However, Ive found in the wikki this nice Synce - openSUSE HowTo but it was meant for OS 10.2 and 10.3. On the other hand, I've also found these repositories made for OS 11 :=) from MasterPatricko Index of /Linux/OpenSuSE/repositories/home:/MasterPatricko:/synce/openSUSE_11.0/i586 (who BTW, I've already PMd to ask for some help). I'm afraid that if I follow the wikki howto and if something goes wrong, theb I will not be able to uninstall the packages, on the other hand, if these packages, are already built for OS 11 ... which ones should I install? and then the next question, How do I configure/sync my ipaq? and my last question will be... will there be an option to synchronize it by clicking an icon? or it must be made all in the command line?.. Lots of questions I know but I need some ideas as I've no experience with PDAs.Kind Regards Luis |
