Default Sound Problem

Hi I have problem with my Suse 11 and kde 4.1

When I try to use Amarok I got the following error:

the audio playback device HDA Intel (ALC883 Analog) does not work. Falling back to default

Before the upgrade to 4.1 this error was also at the login, now not

Other programs in Java as Atunes works good.
I've seen also that I can't hear any sound system.

Pls could you help me?

I had the same problem, but the solution is easy. In KDE 4.0.4 the SUSE packages used the phonon-xine backend which worked, but for KDE 4.1 the SUSE packages uses the phonon-gstreamer backend with does not work.

The fix is easy ether use YaST or zypper and install phonon-xine and restart KDE.

I was getting the same (similar) error and this solution worked for me as well. The error message I was getting follows.

The audio playback device Intel 8280 1DB-ICH4 with ALC650F (Intel 82801DB-ICH4) does not work. Falling back to default.
