Indeed, I use AVG, which is free (as in beer) and does a good job, except for when it scans it hammers even my rather nice desktop system. My laptop is for word processing/internet browsing/DVD watching, ect (Not for games) so no reason to have Vista on it. That and a few people want to see how Linux is, and a laptop is easy to bring over and show off.

Well he did want a dualboot, so I gave him both Ubuntu and XP.
I also gave him my copy of the official Ubuntu Guide.

I disagree, my Xbox 360 has no virus protection on it.

oh, but you are talking about their REAL game system and i was talking
about the game systems that most folks use: XP, Vista, 95, 98, etc

Excellent! It will not be long before he is completely converted. Did you tell him that he can contact you/the forum if he runs in to a problem?

No its the officially sanctioned Ubuntu book

My version is third edition with Ubuntu hardy heron, the fourth edition covers jaunty.
