Sorry to hear it I hope it works out eventually

Life is overrated. I'd rather stay a geek and spend my hours tinkering on machines and learning new stuff that actually interests me a lot than to deal with life's BS on a daily basis.

actually, smarts has nothing to do with it...that is, the least smart
but still persistent noob could easily take the top spot just by
asking *all* the same questions over again, over again, over again,
and never discovering or making use of any of:

- provided documentation [downloadable, on-line, or purchasable]

- forum search <http://forums.opensuse.org/search.php>

- wiki search <http://en.opensuse.org/Special:Search?>

- other searchers [careful: don't get me started!]

imHo bottom line: there should be no race to see who can capture the
top spot! i reckon i more highly regard that person with *one* helpful
post to the person with 1000 which didn't contribute anything to the
cause of free and open software..

ymmv!

careful: Sagemta, my commentary was not intended to, nor should anyone
read it as saying anything about your helpfulness here!

No offense taken with me I think its a 50/50 mix of gen chit chat & some actual help, well maybe 90/10.

I think its important that a good forum offers more than just answers to requests for help. Its about a group of members (and guests) who share their interest(s) in a social manner. I like reading about contrasting opinions and new info that I might otherwise be unaware of. The live nature of forums, means you get get chance to question further and clarify things if needed. Thats a real advantage over a magazine article or book for example.

My life in the real world with my partner and 18 month old son limits my activity in this one.As ken_yap mentioned, it would be good to see a post count distribution though.
