Re: Let's invade Ubuntu Forums!!!!!
I am visiting this thread after a while now. And boy has it blown out of meaure!
I owe you guys an explanation.
Out of the 70 odd replies, only about three members noticed that it all started as a joke.
Somewhere in the middle I myself pointed that out and then moved on thinking it would end it.
So firstly, I sincerely apologize if anyone felt hurt, insulted or anything of the sort...that was certainly not the intention. The intention was also not to actually invade the Ubuntu Forums. Cmmmon....I have been using Ubuntu then OpenSuse then Fedora then back to Openuse for quite sometime now. I know better than to actually troll other forums. Seriously! So I apologize for the slight bit of sarcasm/joke/etc. that this thread involved in the beginning.
Pardon me...I have used Ubuntu in the past. It was a great place to find my ground, then I moved on.
This was a satirical way to intiate a thread..agreed. Maybe that was the mistake.
But I did not start out insulting members and specific people. With regards to foul-mouthing a distro, I think everyone has the right to. In this regards I find the Fedora Forums to be real nice and most tolerant of people who are venting out their frustrations regarding fedora itself (let alone other distros).
And certain gentlemen above who felt insulted, and certain other wise gentlemen (who think I am a disgrace to the whole Linux community) have equal right to vent out their anger. But how far does such a right extend? To the extent of assumption? To the extent of claiming that one has used an OS since before someone else heard of it...without knowing anything about the person in question? I am afraid but I do not think so.
Although Linux is one big community, individual distro communities are as distinct as anything else. (Compare OpenSuse forums community with Arch Linux, and you will notice).
So thank you all for taking the original post seriously and being patient with it. In future, please do not take my satirical remarks to heart.
Apologies once again.
