Default Curious about the organizational structure of openSUSE & KDE

Since Novel purchased SUSE, do all, or most, openSUSE developers work for Novel?

Does Novel have development offices in both the US and Europe?

Do most openSUSE developers work full time in an office building, or do some of them work from their homes?

What about KDE?

Is there a core of KDE developers who work full time in an office building, or do they all work from scattered locations?

Are many KDE developers also openSUSE developers?

Are the core KDE developers compensated for their work?

There is a master's thesis on Novell/OpenSUSE at:
janfredrik.files.wordpress.com/ 2008/05/stoveland_master_final.pdf
which should answer half your question.

KDE is managed by a separate charity to which people all over the world contribute, including some who happen to work for Novell.

Wow, talk about getting an answer to my question !

It's going to take a while to read it, but so far it's excellent.

Thanks for the link.
